Ann Curry announces departure from Today






[Editor's note] It's no secret that I have railed against anchor Ann Curry from the get-go. I found her to be irritating and ridiculous. She was a poor choice to co-anchor the Today show and now everyone knows it.

All that being said, the video above ripped my heart out.

Though I never believed Ann could carry the show, I never once doubted her love and dedication to Today. In truth, it's not unlike the love many of her biggest detractors feel for the show. We disliked her because we knew the show could be better. But her passion, however badly delivered, was always in evidence. And at the end of the day, she failed at her dream job and that, more than anything, makes me incredibly sad for her.

Perhaps it's guilt or shame typing now but after 15 years of hard work and dedication, I will miss Ann Curry.

I will miss her, too. I hope they give her the old job back. I really liked her in that position not so much in this one but truthfully I hate to see people fail, especially when it is so publicly done. America is so judgemental and here we are having people give their 2 cents without having any idea what it entails to be a reporter.

Ric Alonso resigns from pageant association after porn revelation

Kevin Hogan wasn't the only person this week ambushed out of a job for his participation in the gay adult film industry. FOX News reports : Ric Alonso and his partner of 21 years, Ernie Koneck, have both been both prominent power players in the Southern California Scholarship Association — an incorporated not-for-profit association — which produces the Miss Hollywood pageant, an official preliminary to Miss California, and a feeder to Miss America. Alonso is listed as the first “major sponsor” for 2011 scholarship donations, while partner Koneck has been the pageantry point of contact and is featured in photographs alongside the smiling young sashed pageant contestants. On Tuesday, Alonso was exposed by RadarOnline as adult film actor and producer "Jake Cruise".
