It's Cher Week on Jerry Curl

[Editor's note] Greetings readers. I'm thrilled to report that this upcoming Saturday night, in Las Vegas, at Caesars Palace, I will be watching Cher dazzle me with 40 years of her divadom!

To mark the 25th year of my life, I decided to pay homage to a woman who shaped so much of who I am today. The camp, the glitz, the autotune-- she's made me a legend in my own mind and that deserves praise from the 6th row. I'm already fixin' to bedazzle a sailor hat to toss on stage during "If I Could Turn Back Time" !

All this means that it's a very special week on the Curl. On the one hand, posting will be uncharacteristically slim after Wednesday because I'll be traveling. On the other hand, I'll be posting some of Cher's greatest moments all week! Music videos, live performances, interviews, the works! Think of it as a virtual tribute before the momentous moment.

That said, here's the first installment. It's Cher performing "Perfection" Live at the Mirage.

Ric Alonso resigns from pageant association after porn revelation

Kevin Hogan wasn't the only person this week ambushed out of a job for his participation in the gay adult film industry. FOX News reports : Ric Alonso and his partner of 21 years, Ernie Koneck, have both been both prominent power players in the Southern California Scholarship Association — an incorporated not-for-profit association — which produces the Miss Hollywood pageant, an official preliminary to Miss California, and a feeder to Miss America. Alonso is listed as the first “major sponsor” for 2011 scholarship donations, while partner Koneck has been the pageantry point of contact and is featured in photographs alongside the smiling young sashed pageant contestants. On Tuesday, Alonso was exposed by RadarOnline as adult film actor and producer "Jake Cruise". FOX News adds: Following the revelation, Koneck announced his resignation Tuesday as Executive Director of the Southern California Scholarship Association, and said Alonso was in no way involved in the Miss Holl
