Cher Week continues
[Editor's note] One of my favorite Cher songs is perhaps also one of her least recognizable.
In 1974, Cher released "Dark Lady," a song about a jilted lover and a double murder. It's a delicious tale of deception and revenge told through song and animation (see video below). Doom and gloom as it may sound, it's a fun song that tells a great story.
The song became Cher's third solo U.S. number one hit on March 23, 1974 and her last until "Believe" a quarter-century later.
It's also one of my greatest hits while karaoking in traffic. In any case, I hope you enjoy the song as much as I enjoy it!
