Adam Lambert: "I'm Gay"

Adam Lambert tells Rolling Stone in its new issue:

"I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay...Right after the finale, I almost started talking about it to the reporters, but I thought, ‘I’m going to wait for Rolling Stone, that will be cooler. I didn’t want the Clay Aiken thing and the celebrity-magazine bullshit. I need to be able to explain myself in context. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me....[However], I’m trying to be a singer, not a civil rights leader."

No one in a position to be an advocate wants to be, it seems. But, can we blame them? If I were him, I'd just want to make music without it being a big political deal...

Besides, it'd be nice to have some more matter-of-fact gay music out there. Matt Alber is wearing thin...

Glambert thinks Rolling Stone is not a celebrity rag? What an idiot. They put Brad Pitt on the cover of 50 Best Albums issue, for crying out loud. Nothing against Brad, but what does he have to do with best albums?
