American Idol: Post #20

We're starting off today's updates with an American Idol blog because the emotions of last night cannot be contained any longer. What a show! Despite the endless amount of filler and glitter (see Katy Perry), it was an exciting and nerve-wracking hour.

As you may have heard, Adam Lambert and Kris Allen are this season's top 2. Yep, you read correctly-- Kris Allen and Top 2 were in the same sentence. Who would'a thunk, huh? The truth of the matter is that Kris has been knocking them out of the park for the last few weeks and Gokey, frankly, has not. Topped off with that stellar acoustic performance of "Heartless," (see below) the kid secured his place on the top tier of Idol. Add to this, Kris' sure-fire tweeny fan base and you have a receipe for a contender in every sense of the word. Surprising or not, we think he earned his place next to Adam Lambert. They're different, sure, but they're both endlessly talented.

As far as next week's finale goes, who knows? According to Seacrest, only 1 million votes seperated Kris and Adam this week. That being said, this has become anybody's game. Although we're hoping for an Adam Lambert landslide, we feel he's already won. And besides, Kris ain't too bad to look at for two more hours.

Ric Alonso resigns from pageant association after porn revelation

Kevin Hogan wasn't the only person this week ambushed out of a job for his participation in the gay adult film industry. FOX News reports : Ric Alonso and his partner of 21 years, Ernie Koneck, have both been both prominent power players in the Southern California Scholarship Association — an incorporated not-for-profit association — which produces the Miss Hollywood pageant, an official preliminary to Miss California, and a feeder to Miss America. Alonso is listed as the first “major sponsor” for 2011 scholarship donations, while partner Koneck has been the pageantry point of contact and is featured in photographs alongside the smiling young sashed pageant contestants. On Tuesday, Alonso was exposed by RadarOnline as adult film actor and producer "Jake Cruise". FOX News adds: Following the revelation, Koneck announced his resignation Tuesday as Executive Director of the Southern California Scholarship Association, and said Alonso was in no way involved in the Miss Holl
