American Idol: Post #13

So here they are, kids. The Top 5 on Idol: Gokey, Adam Lambert, Allison, Kris, and Matt.

I don't think anyone is surprised to find the first three there. Despite my reservations about Gokey, he's got a loyal and powerful fan base out there. He'll make it further. Not far enough to beat Adam Lambert though. He's been this season's winner since performance 3. Even when I don't watch, I vote Lambert! For her part, Allison has been this season's biggest delight. I liked her since the auditions and hoped she'd make it far enough to be noticed. Allison, we noticed and love it.

Kris and Matt are unexpected surprises. Kris' performances have gotten progressively stronger throughout. He's shown a real command for his music and let's face it, he's the cutest thing to watch on a Tuesday night. I'm still waiting for shirtless Facebook pictures to surface. Matt, on the other hand, started strong but has lost some of his mojo. I'm not sure where he fits in anymore, but I'm glad a nice guy is making something of himself. That's about all I can say about him.

My Top 3 prediction is as follows: Gokey, Adam, and Kris.

Yeah, Kris is decidedly the best looking of the bunch. Call me when those photos surface.

Ric Alonso resigns from pageant association after porn revelation

Kevin Hogan wasn't the only person this week ambushed out of a job for his participation in the gay adult film industry. FOX News reports : Ric Alonso and his partner of 21 years, Ernie Koneck, have both been both prominent power players in the Southern California Scholarship Association — an incorporated not-for-profit association — which produces the Miss Hollywood pageant, an official preliminary to Miss California, and a feeder to Miss America. Alonso is listed as the first “major sponsor” for 2011 scholarship donations, while partner Koneck has been the pageantry point of contact and is featured in photographs alongside the smiling young sashed pageant contestants. On Tuesday, Alonso was exposed by RadarOnline as adult film actor and producer "Jake Cruise".
