Hangover Part II biggest R-rated comedy ever

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, The Hangover Part II reached $488.7 million in worldwide box office receipts making it the most successful R-rated comedy of all time.

The sequel surpassed the $467.5 million earned worldwide by the original film.

"Through Sunday, 'Hangover II’s' international gross was $256 million, while it has earned $232.7 million so far in North America," The Hollywood Reporter said. "Internationally, the biggest territories include the U.K. ($48 million), Germany ($31.5 million) and Australia ($30.4 million)."

The film has yet to open in Japan and Spain.
