The President and the King: When Nixon met Elvis

After writing a five-page letter to President Richard M. Nixon stating that he wanted to help win the war on drugs, singer Elvis Presley went to the White House to meet the president on Dec. 21, 1970. Today marks the 40th anniversary of one of the strangest encounters between a celebrity and a sitting president.
