The Sound of Music cast to reunite on Oprah

The Marquee Blog reports: If seeing the cast of The Sound of Music reunited on national TV is one of your dreams, well... Oprah Winfrey is going to make another one of your dreams come true during her final season.

Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer will join fellow Music stars Charmian Carr (Liesl), Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich), Heather Menzies-Urich (Louisa), Duane Chase (Kurt), Angela Cartwright (Brigitta), Debbie Turner (Marta) and Kym Karath (Gretl) on Winfrey's show on October 29, 2010, according to a statement.

It's been 45 years since the cast had such a reunion, and they plan on dishing about behind-the-scenes dirt from the Music set and what they've been up to since their Oscar-winning movie was released.

Plus, the Von Trapp Children, a singing group that features some of the actual members of the von Trapp family, will be on hand to showcase their pipes in a tribute to the family-favorite film and its starsIn related news, there's going to be a Sound of Music sing-a-long!
