Sarah Ferguson may land show on Oprah's network

Today reports: Cash-strapped Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson might have found a new way to generate some income: by hosting a show of her own on Oprah Winfrey’s fledgling cable network, OWN.

Ferguson reportedly has an offer from the network on the table, one that came from Winfrey herself.

“Oprah made the call this week … the offer is a ray of light at the end of a very dark tunnel,” reported Britain’s Daily Mail on Sunday.

Publicists for OWN and for Winfrey did not respond to requests for comment, but a source close to the network said that the deal did not sound like it was out of the realm of possibility.

“She needs cash, and OWN needs content,” said the source.

Another source said that OWN wouldn’t be the first place Fergie tried to land a show. “She’s been pitching to networks for some time,” said the source.

Last May, Ferguson appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to make a public apology after she was caught on videotape selling access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.
