FOX to give Glee four-month hiatus

ArtsBeat reports: The Fox network is raising a few eyebrows with the announcement of its winter 2010 schedule.

The Hollywood Reporter said that the network will put its hit series Glee on a four-month hiatus between December and April, rather than pair the musical comedy with American Idol, which returns to Fox on Jan. 12. The hiatus is most likely to accommodate the Glee creator Ryan Murphy, who is also directing Julia Roberts in the film adaptation of Eat, Pray, Love.

Fox will also move its series Fringe to Thursdays, and show the finale episode of Dollhouse on Jan. 22.
